AlumniCorps’s Statements of Solidarity

Princeton AlumniCorps stands in solidarity with the Uvalde community in response to the mass shooting committed at Robb Elementary School in Texas, a predominantly Latinx community. We share in the heartbreak and devastation of the families and communities mourning the unjust loss of their loved ones.
This year alone, the United States has experienced 213 mass shootings, which is more shootings than the days that have passed in 2022. AlumniCorps asserts that this reality is both unacceptable and preventable.
As a nonprofit dedicated to creating a more just, equitable, and sustainable world, we demand change for individuals all across our country, with particular emphasis on our most marginalized communities, who often bear the brunt of these collective traumas.
We believe that all people should be able to live their lives safely without fear of gun violence. We call on our leaders and lawmakers to take action to prevent these senseless massacres, and to do their part to create a country where everyone is safe, supported, and able to thrive.
